| Since May of 1973, the College of Medicine at Peoria has graduated classes of bright, able, and dedicated physicians. Peoria alumni are a diverse group of physicians, scholars, researchers, and teachers. The majority of the 1,341 physicians who have graduated from the Peoria site are practicing medicine in communities across the country and abroad. Recent graduates are completing residency programs and post-graduate fellowships. Of all Peoria graduates, 554 (41%) have remained in the state of Illinois to practice medicine and serve Illinois residents. A significant number of alumni have chosen to remain in central Illinois, and 146 are now members of the College's faculty. At their time of graduation, 707 of 1,341 total graduates (53%) had selected training programs for primary care specialties. | ||
