Fourth year medical students at the Peoria site have the opportunity to attend a scholarly conference thanks to an award from the Peoria Medical Alumni Council.

Up to $1,000 will be available annually to reimburse an M-4 student for attendance at an educational program in his or her M-4 year. Reimbursements will be made to cover the registration fees, travel expenses, lodging, and meals during the scholarly meeting. The meeting must be nationally recognized and held in the continental United States. The goal of this program is to enhance the students educational experience.

To be considered for the award, students provide a one-page paper explaining how attendance at the proposed meeting would enhance their medical education. A subcommittee to determine the recipient(s) then reviews submission forms. In exchange for attendance at the meeting, the recipient(s) must provide their fellow medical students with an abstract of information learned from the scholarly meeting. The recipient(s) will also provide a presentation at a meeting of the Peoria Medical Alumni Council.
