Methodist Medical Center 

Methodist Medical Center is a busy, 330 bed facility that maintains consistent financial stability.  Our residency is the only teaching program based at Methodist and has busy internal medicine, pediatric and obstetrical services. You are exposed to, and learn to deal with, a wide range of medical conditions, from routine illnesses to rare diseases.

Since its inception more than 100 years ago, Methodist Medical Center has been a pioneer in providing innovative health care for the greater Peoria area as well as nineteen surrounding counties. You have the opportunity to work with:

• the first clinical positron emission tomography (PET) center in down state Illinois
• one of the nation's busiest and most copied ambulatory surgery centers
• the area's first radiation therapy program
• central Illinois' only certified sleep disorders center
• central Illinois' most comprehensive cancer care program
• the longest running coronary bypass surgical program in the city

As one of our residents, you also have the opportunity to become directly involved with many of Methodist's other unique services, especially:

• the longest standing hospice program
• the state's first mobile mammography unit
• the newest and most modern rehabilitation unit downstate
• a state of the art medical imaging department that includes two CT scanners and two MRIs
• the largest acute adolescent psychiatric unit in the area
