Application
Applicants who are graduates of an accredited U.S. or Canadian
medical school must have passed parts I & II of the United
States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). Graduates of
foreign medical schools must have a medical degree and must
fulfill all educational requirements to practice medicine in the
country where the degree was obtained. A valid ECFMG or
equivalent certificate and a valid visa are required. All
documents must be provided in certified English translation. A
copy of your valid visa must be presented on or before the day
of your interview. We also require photocopies of your USMLE
results.
All applicants must be registered through the Electronic
Residency Application Service (ERAS), which can be viewed at
www.aamc.org/students/eras
Applicants must qualify for medical licensure in the state of
Illinois. Individuals who graduated from a medical or
osteopathic college more than five years prior to date of
application for licensure must submit documentation to the
Department evidencing continuing clinical skills since
graduation from medical school. Upon your medical licensure
application being determined complete, you will be scheduled for
an interview with the Illinois Medical Licensing Board to
provide testimony regarding clinical skills.

Deadline for receipt of applications through ERAS
Following review of all completed application materials by the
Neurology Recruitment Committee, selected applicants will be
contacted and scheduled for interviews on designated dates in
November, December, and January. Because of the large number of
applications received, it is not possible to interview all
applicants. No decisions are based on race, religion, creed,
color, age, or gender of the candidate. All applicants are given
thoughtful consideration.
