The Department of Neurology at UICOM-P is currently comprised of seventeen full-time neurologists at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center representing several Neurology subspecialties. In addition, there is a neuropharmacologist (Ph.D.) and three registered nurses who work in Neurology research on a full-time basis. A senior neuropathologist in the Department of Pathology works closely with the Neurology department. Three pediatric neurologists have primary appointments with the Department of Pediatrics and secondary appointments with the Department of Neurology.

The Department of Radiology has five full-time neuroradiologists and three interventional neuroradiologists. In terms of technology, state-of-the-art equipment for neuroradiologic testing is available, including three MRI units and three CT scanners. Invasive neuroradiology, with extensive expertise in this area, is available at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Two additional neuroradiologists are located at Methodist Medical Center which also houses an active PET scanner.

The Departments of Neurosurgery and Neurology share an Intensive Care Unit with 31 beds and a general service with 45 additional beds. The occupancy rate is nearly 100%. A rehabilitation unit is available with a capacity of about 26 beds for neurologic and neurosurgical patients.

The outpatient service is a large facility with ten examining rooms and six full-time nurses. A Neurology Clinic at the VA Outpatient Clinic located in Peoria is run one half day weekly with participation by the Neurology residents. In addition, inpatient and outpatient coverage of Pekin Hospital is part of the department's function. Outreach clinics in Pekin and Canton are staffed by members of the department.

Subspecialty Neurology clinics include the OSF Stroke Unit, Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, Neuro-ophthalmology Clinic, Vestibular Clinic, Multiple Sclerosis Clinic, Muscular Dystrophy Clinic, Sleep Disorders Clinic and Muscle, Nerve, and Movement Disorder Clinic.
