GIUSEPPE LANZINO, M.D.
Dr .
Giuseppe Lanzino is an experienced neurosurgeon who continues to
make advances in his field. He has been involved with several
clinical trials and holds a patent for his “method of treating
cerebral vasospasm and cerebral ischemia.”
He is also active in providing leadership in his multiple roles
at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria (UICOMP)
where he serves as Associate Professor for the Departments of
Neurosurgery and Radiology, Director of the Neurosurgery
Microsurgical Laboratory and Chief of Cerebrovascular Section,
Department of Neurosurgery.
A native of Italy, Dr. Lanzino has studied and conducted
research throughout the world including Italy, Holland, England
and various states within our own country. He has presented his
work internationally and has authored numerous book chapters.
Dr. Lanzino’s primary areas of specialty include pediatric
neurosurgery, trauma and brain tumors. He is a member of
multiple professional societies such as the American Association
of Neurological Surgeons, the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Tumors
and the Stroke Council, American Heart Association. He has
received national medical awards as well as earned local
recognition including being named one of the Forty Leaders Under
40 by InterBusiness Issues.
Dr. Lanzino and his wife, Desiree, live in the Peoria area with
their three children.
