Stylianos Rammos, MD, PGY-4

Dr. Stylianos Rammos
is currently the 4th year Neurosurgical Resident (PGY-5). His
responsibilities this year include coverage of the Methodist
Medical Center service as Chief Resident. He has just finished
his PGY-4 year, where he concluded an enfolded fellowship in
diagnostic cerebral and spinal angiography under his mentor Dr.
Fraser, Professor of Radiology. During this time he performed
over 320 cerebral and spinal diagnostic angiograms as primary
operator, and assisted as secondary operator in more than 100
endovascular interventions. Dr. Rammos graduated from the
Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece
with honors in 2000. He was a Sergeant Physician for 2 years in
the Greek Air Force. He spent one year conducting postgraduate
research at the Department of Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai
Hospital, New York, before entering his residency. His interests
are focused primarily on cerebrovascular disorders. He is
actively involved in cadaveric dissections studying operative
approaches at our microsurgical laboratory. His latest
publication is presented in the October 2008 issue of Journal of
Neurosurgery as a featured article, accompanied by an editorial
by Dr. Heros. Dr. Rammos is the host of the weekly
Multidisciplinary Neurovascular Conference and the PI of at
least two ongoing clinical research projects. He is currently
pursuing a dual fellowship in Cerebrovascular and Endovascular
Neurosurgery.
