Dr. Spomar is
our Chief Resident. Dr. Spomar has had an illustrious academic
career, being a National Merit Scholar, as well as Phi Beta
Kappa, and graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in
chemistry from Wabash College. During medical school at Indiana
University, he conducted research in spinal cord injury which he
has continued throughout his residency. During his residency,
he has completed anatomical studies regarding localization of
the pterygopalatine ganglion for gamma knife treatment of
cluster headache. He is currently studying the effects of
stereotactic radiosurgery on the operative cavity in resected
metastasis. Dr. Spomar’s clinical interests are in degenerative
spine and general neurosurgery.
