OSF St. Francis Medical Center is a 740 bed multispecialty tertiary center which is the Regional Perinatal Center for Central Illinois. The emergency room has a level I trauma center designation. The Stroke Network and newly remodeled neurodiagnostic center provides care throughout Central Illinois. OSF St. Francis Medical Center purchased the first Gamma Knife in Downstate Illinois.

The Maternal Fetal Diagnostic Center provides services to >5000 high risk patients. The Perinatal Center covers 29 hospitals in Central Illinois with an active Lifeflight maternal transport program. The graduating residents are trained in the management of high risk pregnancies throughout their four years of training.
