Message from the Director

Welcome to the Pediatric Residency Program at
the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. Our
program is located at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois which
is a part of OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, the third
largest hospital for staffed beds in Illinois. Our program has a
long standing tradition, since 1958, of excellence in pediatric
education. Because we are a large referral and tertiary center
for Peoria, the greater Peoria area, and 37 counties stretching
from the Iowa border to the Indiana border you will experience
both primary and tertiary care in pediatric medicine. This
training will prepare you for primary practice, academic
medicine or fellowships. Our faculty is committed to educational
rigor and our program size fosters a collegial and friendly team
work atmosphere. As you are looking for a residency, I encourage
you to look for a program that fits your personality and needs.
If you are seeking a program that has a strong educational
curriculum, cutting edge technology, and training in both
primary and tertiary care, our program is the right fit for you.
If you are looking for a program with a personal touch, where
you will be part of the team and enjoy excellent working
relationships with your fellow residents and faculty, you have
come to the right place! I welcome you to come and experience
our program for yourself by seeing our facility and meeting the
residents and faculty. I look forward to meeting you!
Elizabeth Kramer, M.D.
