Dr. John D. Murray was born in New York and grew up in
Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated with a BS degree in Biology
from Furman University in South Carolina where he received
the Outstanding College Student of America Award. He
received his doctorate of medicine at Emory University
School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, where he also
completed a General Surgery Residency and Plastic Surgery
Fellowship. Dr.
Murray completed additional training in the areas of facial
rejuvenation, complex rhinoplasty and augmentation
mammoplasty. He is board certified with The American Board
of Surgery and The American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Murray joined our faculty in August of 2003. Dr. Murray
is Assistant Professor of Surgery and serves as Director of
Aesthetic Surgery, Section of Plastic & Reconstructive
Surgery. He is a member of many medical societies and is on
the active staff at all three area hospitals. He is the
recipient of the
2005 OSF Saint Francis ‘Outstanding Physician Award”.
He lives in Peoria with his wife Dr. Paige Murray and their
two daughters.
