After graduating from the
University of Illinois in Champaign Magna Cum Laude with
Distinction in Microbiology Dr. Brady continued his
education at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. His
medical degree was completed in 1978 and proceeded to a
residency position in Diagnostic Radiology at the
University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. After completing a
four year residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a one
year fellowship in Cardiovascular/Interventional
Radiology, Dr. Brady was certified by the American Board
of Radiology in 1982 and received his CAQ’s in
Vascular/Interventional Radiology in November of 1999.
Central Illinois Radiological Associates in Peoria,
Illinois recruited Dr. Brady in 1985 to be the Director
of the Vascular/Interventional Section of the Department
of Radiology at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
In 1987 Dr. Brady joined
the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria
(UICOMP). He currently holds the title of Clinical
Professor of Radiology and Surgery with the College. In
1997 Dr. Brady was awarded the Faculty of the Year Award
at UICOMP. In 2004 Dr. Brady was awarded the Derkse
Award for Excellence in Radiology by the radiology
residents. In 2005 Dr. Brady was selected to be a
Fellow in the American College of Radiology, an honor
bestowed in 10% of radiologists in this country.
In 1992 it was decided
that a Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program should be
instituted at the University of Illinois College of
Medicine at Peoria and OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Dr. Brady accepted the position of Program Director of
the residency. Dr. Brady played a key role in having the
number of offered positions increased from 2 to 4 slots
in March of 2002 by the ACGME.
Dr. Brady’s dedication to
teaching is proven by his many publications in
nationally recognized journals, book chapters,
scientific exhibits, and presentations at the local and
national level. He is also a member of numerous
societies including the Society of Interventional
Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, and
the Association of Program Directors in Radiology to
name just a few. Dr. Brady also serves on numerous
committees at the University of Illinois College of
Medicine at Peoria and OSF Saint Francis Medical
Center. Dr.
Brady has been selected by the American Board of
Radiology to be an examiner for the Diagnostic Radiology
and Vascular/Interventional Radiology Certificate of
Added Qualification oral examinations.
